Update 06/10/25 – 10:20 am (IST): Some users have reported that leaving the Instagram Beta program, uninstalling the app, and then reinstalling the stable build did the trick for them. They claim this helped them see posts in profiles yet again. However, your mileage may vary since this didn’t help everyone, including myself.

To leave the beta program, head over to the Play Store, find the Instagram listing, and then scroll down till you see the Beta section. Tap the ‘Leave’ button and wait for the process to remove you from the Beta program. Once removed, uninstall the Instagram app and then reinstall the stable build on your device.

You’ll have to log in again, but once in, check the profile section to see if the issue has been fixed. Feel free to drop a comment below to let us know if this worked or not.

Original article published on October 4, 2025, follows:

Thousands of Instagram users around the world are waking up to a scary situation. A widespread bug is making posts disappear from profiles across the platform. When visiting a profile, affected users are seeing a message like “No Posts Yet,” even on accounts with hundreds of posts. If they check their own profile, they see a message saying “Create your first post.”

I started seeing a flood of these reports pop up on Reddit and X late yesterday. Users were panicking, thinking their content had been permanently deleted. At first, I wasn’t affected and figured it might be a minor server issue. But today, even I’m experiencing the same bug on my Android app.

Check out these screenshots for reference:

Interestingly, the iOS app isn’t showing any issues, at least in my case.

One artist on Reddit described the frustration of watching their 850+ posts vanish overnight.

What makes this particularly anxiety-inducing is that the posts appear completely gone when viewing your own profile, though other users can still see them normally. The bug extends beyond just your own content too. Affected users report that every single profile they visit shows the same empty state, as if nobody on Instagram has ever posted anything.

Multiple users have attempted the usual troubleshooting steps like clearing cache, reinstalling the app, and even leaving beta programs, but the bug persists. Some report that reinstalling temporarily brings posts back, only for them to disappear again shortly after. A few users have found temporary workarounds by using Instagram Lite or accessing the platform through a web browser, where posts remain visible.

That said, despite this bug affecting seemingly thousands of users, the folks over at Instagram are still silent. Typically, server-side bugs are usually fixed within a matter of a few hours. However, it seems that either Instagram is blissfully unaware of the issue or that this is a tricky problem for them to resolve.

If your profile also appears to be wiped clean, you shouldn’t worry. Your posts are still there and can be viewed on the Instagram website.

Instagram appears to be going through a particularly rough patch. Yesterday alone, we covered a bug where Reels thumbnails were appearing in every comment section, making conversations practically unreadable. Even more concerning, the app has been crashing frequently for Android users, with “Something went wrong” errors appearing seemingly at random. The cascade of issues suggests Instagram might be dealing with a bigger problem.

I’ll keep an eye out for any further details and will post an update if and when there’s something to share.
