Google’s Call Notes feature has been one of the standout Gemini Nano-powered perks for Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 users. But until recently, it was locked to the U.S. market.

When Google first introduced the feature, it positioned Call Notes as part of the Call Assist suite designed to make phone conversations less chaotic. Instead of grabbing a pen mid-call to jot down dates, addresses or follow-up reminders, users could simply tap a button during the call to trigger an automatic summary and full transcript once the conversation ended. The feature lives under the Call Assist menu and was initially accessible only to Pixel 9 and newer phones in the U.S.

Earlier this week, Google announced plans to expand Call Notes as a beta preview to Australia, Canada, India, and Ireland, along with new “smart follow-ups” like suggested reminders, tasks, and calendar events, plus the option to enable Call Notes automatically for every call with a 3-second buffer to opt out.

But guess who showed up uninvited? The UK.

Reports indicate that at least one Pixel 10 Pro XL user in the UK recently saw the Call Notes option appear during a live phone call. The device in question was running the beta version of the Google Phone app (specifically version 193.0.809761572-publicbeta), and the feature only kicked in for calls lasting at least thirty seconds.

As part of the process, a short disclosure announcement is played at the beginning of the call to notify both parties that the conversation is being recorded. This rollout seems to be happening through a server-side update, not a standard app release, which explains the limited reports.

To make things more confusing, Google’s own support page still insists that Call Notes is exclusive to the U.S., so the UK rollout is clearly happening ahead of any official acknowledgment.

Interestingly, this development arrives shortly after Google expanded its call recording capabilities to users in both the U.S. and the UK. That move was already seen as a sign that stricter regions were gradually opening up to more advanced call management features, especially those tied to on-device AI. With call recording and Call Notes now quietly appearing in these markets, it looks like Google is laying the groundwork for a broader release than publicly stated.

For Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 users in the UK, the takeaway is simple: even if Google hasn’t formally put your region on the list, the feature may already be making its way to your device. The Call Notes toggle lives under the Call Assist section of the Google Phone app settings, so it’s worth checking periodically if you don’t see it yet. Since availability depends on a server-side switch, not everyone will receive it at the same time. But the early signs point to a wider rollout being just a matter of time.
