Just when Hulu subscribers thought the worst was a brutal price hike staring them down, the streaming giant decided to crank the pain level a notch higher — with a bug that’s trapping users on an unskippable price increase screen. Imagine trying to binge your favorite show, only to be stonewalled by a pop-up you can’t get rid of. The frustration is clearly off the charts, judging by the complaints popping up.
The carousel of complaints started surfacing on X earlier today. “I can’t dismiss the screen because the OK button doesn’t work. I can’t even watch my more expensive service. Nice f**ing customer experience,” vented @CherokeeNotion, who highlighted their ordeal on a PS5.
There are many such reports. Take, for example, @HexDolls, who posted “Currently I am stuck on hulu.com/onboarding and every time I click ‘okay’ it reloads the page with the same notice. No matter what I do, I can’t get back to the streaming home page.” They even said they downgraded their subscription but still couldn’t watch a thing; the bug just won’t budge. Over and over, users tried clicking “OK” on that price increase alert — no dice. Hulu seems to be rubbing salt in the wound at this point.
@followsthestars shared their frustration, “Hulu out here raising prices but can’t even let us watch the damn platform because of their stupid pop-up notification not going away. @hulu_support this is ridiculous.” They even attached a recording of the bug for reference. Check it out below:

Then there’s @Coda_88_, stuck on a loading screen with the PS5 app and sarcastically grateful for Hulu’s “awesome price increase roll out”.
Reddit threads are filling up with subscribers either swearing they’ll cancel or sharing memes about Hulu’s “perfect timing” for dropping the price hike bombshell. User coopersgranny summed up the mood with, “Already cancelled and not going back. Ready the room, Disney”.
The bug seems to revolve around Hulu’s new subscription management/onboarding screens, triggered by the price hike pop-up. Users report that on several platforms, including PlayStation consoles and browsers, clicking “OK” does absolutely nothing.
Hulu’s support team, meanwhile, has acknowledged the issue and said, “Sorry for any upset! We’re currently investigating this behavior with a high priority, and we hope to have a fix in place soon. Thank you for your patience”.
People are already steamed about the prices, and now they’re getting locked out for good measure. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that Hulu is aware and a fix is in the works.
