With the Google Pixel 10 launch event just around the corner on August 20, the rumor mill is in overdrive. In a classic pre-launch fashion, last-minute leaks have given us a sneak peek at some new accessories, while Google itself is teasing a star-studded affair for its tenth-generation smartphone celebration.

New charging gear and pricier cases

Just when we think we know everything about the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup, it seems newer leaks pop-up to purge any potential surprises during the event itself. This time around, a few Canadian retailers jumped the gun and revealed a brand-new charging accessory, as reported by Android Authority. According to their listings, Google is set to release a 67W Dual Port Power Adapter. This is a pretty decent bump from the 45W charger introduced with the Pixel 9 series last year. While still not as fast as what some Chinese OEMs like OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo offer, it’s a welcome upgrade in my books.

The new adapter, spotted in a “Snow” color, will reportedly cost CA$79 (around $57 USD), which is nearly double the price of its 45W predecessor. While a more powerful charger from a trusted brand is welcome, there are certainly more affordable options on the market.

It’s not all price hikes, though. The new Pixelsnap Charger with Stand is listed at CA$99 (about $72 USD), making it CA$10 cheaper than the Pixel Stand 2 it replaces. This is welcome news for those looking to get into Google’s new magnetic accessory ecosystem, which has been the subject of some recent leaks also covered by us at PiunikaWeb.

However, the official Pixel 10 cases are expected to see a price increase, likely due to the embedded magnets for the Pixelsnap system. Leaked listings show a price of CA$69 (~$50 USD), a noticeable jump from the $35-$49 price of last year’s cases.

A-list guests to grace the stage

Google seems to be pulling out all the stops for its tenth Pixel anniversary, promising a keynote filled with famous faces. In a recent teaser, the company confirmed appearances by late-night host Jimmy Fallon, NBA superstar Stephen Curry, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, and the Jonas Brothers.

The celebrity lineup isn’t entirely random. Stephen Curry has been seen wearing a Pixel Watch, and Google is a sponsor of Lando Norris’s McLaren F1 team, as noted by 9to5Google.

The event’s tagline, “Get outside your comfort phone,” further hints at a direct challenge to Apple’s iPhone. The keynote, broadcasting live from New York City, is set to unveil the full Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, alongside the Pixel Watch 4 and new Pixel Buds.
