It’s been a weird week for Google hardware fans. Just as leaked Pixel 10 pricing suggests the company finally gets that people don’t want to pay iPhone money for Android phones, Pixel 6a owners are dealing with devices that won’t stop overheating, and Chrome’s basic copy-paste function has gone completely sideways.
Pixel 10 pricing leaked
Google’s next flagship line-up will keep your wallet almost as happy as your camera roll. Android Headlines has obtained the first confirmed US price sheet for the entire Pixel 10 family, and the good news is that there’s no across-the-board price jump.
The vanilla Pixel 10 still starts at $799 for 128 GB, exactly where the Pixel 9 sat. Want double the storage? That’ll be $899, a modest $100 bump. Canadians will pay C$1,099 and C$1,229 respectively, which is roughly in line with current exchange rates.
The Pixel 10 Pro also stays put at $999 for the entry 128 GB tier. From there it’s $1,099 (256 GB), $1,219 (512 GB) and $1,449 (1 TB). North-of-the-border pricing starts at C$1,349 and tops out at C$1,949.
If you prefer the larger canvas, the Pixel 10 Pro XL now starts at 256 GB for $1,199. That looks like a hike until you realize Google axed the 128 GB SKU; the 256 GB Pixel 9 Pro XL cost the same last October. Canadians will shell out C$1,629 to start and C$2,099 for the 1 TB monster.
Finally, the foldable fans: the Pixel 10 Pro Fold keeps its launch price of $1,799 (256 GB) and climbs to $2,149 for the new 1 TB option. Pre-order bundles remain generous — every model outside the base Pixel 10 scores a full year of Google AI Pro (Gemini Advanced plus 2 TB of Google One), plus the usual three months of YouTube Premium and six months of Fitbit Premium.
Pixel 6a runs hot after battery performance update
While the Pixel 10 sounds like a safe bet, Google’s older hardware is giving owners sweaty palms — literally. Posts on Google’s own forums and threads on Reddit’s r/GooglePixel and r/pixel_phones describe the Pixel 6a overheating after the July security patch that was supposed to cool things down.
Users report high temperatures with charging and even light tasks like Instagram scrolling. Some claim the phone disables mobile data or shuts down entirely. The pattern sounds eerily similar to the Pixel 6 line, which saw its own spike in complaints this week. Over there, owners joke about popping the phone in the freezer, but the underlying worry is fire safety.
Google hasn’t issued an official statement yet, but you might want to check if your Pixel 6a qualifies for the battery replacement program. If so, you “may be eligible for a repair at no cost to you, a cash payment, or a Google Store hardware discount credit,” according to Google.

Chrome’s copy-paste meltdown spreads on Android
If you’ve tried sharing a link from Chrome on your Pixel this week, you may have come up empty-handed. A bug that first popped up a few weeks ago have now snowballed across Reddit and the Google support forums. I can confirm this bug on two separate Pixel phones as well.

The symptoms are simple: long-press the address bar, tap “Copy link”, then try to paste — nothing appears. The clipboard stays blank, whether you’re dropping the URL into a text, email or Google Doc. A Chrome community specialist also mentioned that the bug exists, and the Android Issue Tracker lists it as ID 435221689, tagged for Android 16 builds.
Temporary workarounds aren’t pretty. Some users have switched to Firefox or Samsung Internet, while others rely on the share sheet and pick “Copy to clipboard” from there. Google’s current guidance is to file feedback under Settings > About phone > Send feedback and include system logs, but the company hasn’t provided a timeline for a patch.
The URL copy glitch arrived alongside the new “move address bar to bottom” rollout, which replaced the old long-press menu. That said, keep an eye out for Chrome updates on the Play Store, it’s likely that we’ll see a fix arrive shortly given how easy it is to reproduce the bug.
