Fresh leaks have given us our first detailed look at Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 Pro, complete with specifications for the highly anticipated Tensor G5 chipset. The prototype images surfaced on Chinese social media platform Coolapk before being shared by tipster Mystic Leaks. The leak offers concrete details about what Google has in store for its next flagship series.
Pixel 10 Pro prototype emerges with key details
The leaked prototype shows a Design Verification Test (DVT1.0) unit running what appears to be a non-QPR1 version of Android 16. This early build gives us crucial insights into the hardware configuration Google is planning for the Pixel 10 Pro.
As seen in the images shared by Mystic Leaks, the prototype features 16GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage. These specifications suggest Google is positioning the Pixel 10 Pro as a premium device capable of handling intensive tasks and extended multitasking.
The images also reveal subtle design changes compared to the current Pixel 9 Pro. The camera bar’s cover glass extends closer to the edge, creating a thinner metal border around it. Google has also relocated the SIM card tray to the top left edge of the device. The camera bump appears slightly thicker, though this could be related to the prototype’s early development stage.
This leak also provides our first concrete look at the Tensor G5 chipset, codenamed “blazer.” The processor features an interesting core configuration that includes two Cortex-A520 cores, three Cortex-A725 cores, two additional Cortex-A725 cores, and one Cortex-X4 core.
While the leaked specifications app indicates a 5nm process, Mystic Leaks suggests this is likely incorrect. We already have plenty of leaks from various sources noting that the Tensor G5 is being manufactured on a more advanced 3nm process node. This would mark a significant shift for Google, as the Tensor G5 will be the first chip in the series manufactured by TSMC rather than Samsung.
This manufacturing change brings additional benefits beyond the process node upgrade. The switch to TSMC also means Google is moving away from Samsung’s Exynos modem to a MediaTek solution. This transition could address some of the connectivity and thermal issues that have plagued previous Pixel devices.
August 13 launch date
A recent post from popular tipster, @MysteryLupin, on X suggests that the Pixel 10 series will be launching on August 13, exactly one year after the Pixel 9 series introduction. This consistency suggests Google has found success with its summer launch window and wants to maintain that momentum.
The timing aligns perfectly with Google’s Android 16 rollout plans. Since the company intends to release Android 16 this month, the Pixel 10 series will likely ship with the latest Android version out of the box. This gives Google’s flagship devices a significant advantage in showcasing new Android features.
However, it’s possible that Google might show off the Pixel 10 series earlier at its June event, for which it sent out invites to Pixel Superfans. At the moment, all we can do is wait for an official word. With the amount of leaks, I’m curious to see if Google will actually have something unexpected up its sleeves for the Pixel 10 series.
