Google’s Pixel line is on the rise in Europe. At a time when many brands are struggling, Pixel is gaining ground fast. A recent uptick in shipments has pushed Google into the top five vendors on the continent. Meanwhile, the full suite of Pixel 10 wallpapers has surfaced online. Fans can now grab every design ahead of the phone’s launch.
Google Pixel among fastest-growing Android brands in Europe
Europe’s smartphone market slipped 2 percent in Q1 2025, hit hard by weak entry-level demand, according to Canalys (via 9to5Google). Samsung still led with 12.2 million units, followed by Apple at 8 million and Xiaomi at 5.3 million. Motorola and Google took fourth and fifth, shipping 1.7 million and 0.9 million respectively — a 43 percent year-over-year jump for Pixel.
That surge pushed Google into Europe’s top five for the first time. Pixel shipments rose from about 600,000 in Q1 2024 to nearly a million this year, thanks largely to strong interest in Germany and the UK. Users seem drawn to Pixel’s clean Android interface and prompt updates.
Counterpoint Research similarly reports that only Pixel and Honor saw growth in Europe’s slowing market. Honor grew 20 percent year over year — albeit from a small base — driven by competitive pricing and solid midrange devices. These results follow Google’s April launch of the budget-friendly Pixel 9a and last fall’s Pixel 9 series, moves that appear to be building steady momentum.
