It seems some Pixel owners are running into a frustrating little bug with a usually helpful feature. The At a Glance widget, a staple on Pixel home screens for providing quick info like weather and upcoming events, has reportedly started disappearing or malfunctioning for a portion of users. This issue isn’t just a minor inconvenience; for many, At a Glance is a key part of their daily phone use.

The problem appears to be manifesting in a couple of ways. For some, the entire widget vanishes. For others, specific elements, most commonly the weather information, are either missing or showing incorrect details. Users have taken to Google’s support forums and Reddit to highlight the problem.

I’ve noticed some reports bubbling up from Pixel users across different software versions. Some are on the latest Android 16 beta, while others are running the stable Android 15, including those with the recent May security patch. Interestingly, I tried to see this bug for myself on my Pixel 8 loaded with Android 16 beta 3, and also on a Pixel 7a using Android 15 with the May patch, but the widget behaved perfectly on both. So, it’s clear this isn’t hitting every Pixel out there, making it a bit more perplexing.

Frustrated users have described trying a host of common troubleshooting steps. These include toggling the At a Glance settings, clearing the cache for the Google app and Pixel Launcher, restarting their devices, and even performing factory resets. For most, these efforts have unfortunately yielded no lasting fix.

As user EqualReality2787 lamented on Reddit, “It is gone for two days already. I’ve tried everything including factory reset. It appeared for couple of hours after the reset and then disappeared again.” Another user, SignificantButton492, expressed long-term frustration, stating, “AAG weather has been flaky for a long time and there is no sure fire fix.”

Some community experts have suggested workarounds like adding a full-sized Pixel weather widget to the home screen temporarily, which sometimes seems to jog the At a Glance feature back to life. However, the success of these methods is inconsistent.

Google appears to be aware of issues related to the At a Glance widget, with mentions of information being passed to engineering teams in the official bug tracker.

For now, those experiencing the disappearing widget will have to hope for a software update to bring a more permanent solution. It remains to be seen how widespread the problem truly is and when a fix will roll out to everyone affected.
