According to an exclusive report from Android Headlines, Google is making significant pricing changes for its upcoming Pixel 10 series. The leak reveals a mixed bag of price adjustments that will affect different models in the lineup.

The report suggests that while the Pixel 10 will maintain its current price point of $799, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is expected to see a price increase of around $100, bringing it to approximately $1,200. This creates a more substantial price gap between the different models in the lineup, potentially forcing consumers to make more deliberate choices between devices.

In a surprising move, Google plans to reduce the price of its foldable device. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will reportedly cost around $1,600, which represents a $200 price cut compared to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This trend is expected to continue, with the price potentially dropping to around $1,500 by 2027. While still premium-priced, this goes against the industry trend of increasing foldable device prices.

Google also appears committed to maintaining its current lineup structure through at least 2028. The company will continue to release four flagship Pixel devices every August, including the base model, two Pro models, and a Foldable. The more budget-friendly Pixel a-series will maintain its spring release schedule and $499 price point through the Pixel 12a in 2028.

This pricing strategy comes after what was reportedly a successful year for Google with its Pixel 9 series. The strong sales were attributed to both competitive pricing and improvements in thermal management and modem technology.

The wider gaps in pricing between models suggests Google might be taking a page from Apple’s playbook. Apple implemented a similar strategy with its iPhone 15 Pro Max by effectively raising its price through the elimination of lower storage options.

For potential Pixel buyers, these leaks suggest that while some models will become more affordable, others will see price increases as Google refines its position in the smartphone market. The official announcement of the Pixel 10 series is expected this August.
