We’ve seen plenty of renders and leaks of the Google Pixel 9a already, but it seems we’re not done yet. This week, the device popped up on a German retailer’s website and a UAE classifieds site, revealing pricing and specs. At the same time, unboxing videos on YouTube have given us a close-up look at its design and performance, fueling excitement for what’s to come.

As reported by GSMArena, a German online retailer listed the Pixel 9a at €549 ($599) for the 128GB version, matching earlier leaks. The listing showed four color options: Gray, Rose, Black, and Violet. However, at the time of this writing, it seems the German retailer has removed the listing. Over in the UAE, a classifieds site priced the phone at AED 2,350 ($640) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. These early listings hint that the Pixel 9a could hit shelves soon, with shipping details suggesting a launch later this month.

YouTube videos have added to the buzz. Unboxing clips reveal a fresh design for the Pixel 9a, including a flat rear panel with almost no camera bump. This is a big shift from the chunky camera bar seen on current Pixel models. The flat back makes the phone look sleek and lets it sit steady on a table without wobbling. But it’s a shame that Google ditched its iconic camera bar that makes Pixel phones easy to spot in the wild.

It also has a flat, iPhone-style frame for a modern vibe. But the front tells a different story — large bezels around the 6.3-inch OLED display might feel old-school for a 2025 mid-range phone. Still, the screen offers FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

In the videos, testers ran the Pixel 9a through its paces. The Tensor G4 chip handled benchmarks and games well, avoiding the overheating issues some chips face. Camera samples impressed too, with strong stabilization standing out. However, without a periscope zoom lens, its zoom range might lag behind some rivals. The setup includes a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide, so photo fans should still have plenty to play with.

Software is where the Pixel 9a could shine. It’s expected to launch with Android 15 and get seven years of updates. That’s huge for a budget phone, where most devices only get a couple of years of support. This long-term commitment means users can enjoy new features and security fixes well into the future. Pair that with a 5,100mAh battery and the efficient Tensor G4, and the Pixel 9a might last all day—or longer. Full reviews will tell the real story, but the signs are promising.

Rumors point to a March 19 launch date. In some markets, Google might sweeten the deal with a free Google TV Streamer, boosting the value of this already tempting package. So let us know if you’re planning to pick up the Pixel 9a or do you have other options in mind?
