Some Pixel users have noticed that a recently added feature in the Weather app is nowhere to be seen. The “Immersive vibrations” setting, which added subtle haptic feedback during rain or snow animations, appears to have disappeared for some devices, if not all.

The change first popped up on Reddit a few hours ago. A user posted that the setting was missing on their Pixel 9 Pro, even though it “didn’t work” for them before. A few others quickly chimed in. “Same here,” wrote one person. Another checked their settings and confirmed the option was gone, wondering if it was “just on by default now.” But without rain in their forecast, they couldn’t test the theory. I tried looking for the feature on a Pixel 8, but it’s not there.

The feature originally launched in late 2024 as part of a Pixel Feature Drop. It used AI to sync vibrations with weather animations, like matching rain intensity to haptic pulses. Google said it was enabled by default but could be toggled off in the app’s settings.

Now, that toggle seems to have vanished without explanation. It’s unclear if this is a bug, a quiet removal, or a temporary glitch. Google hasn’t commented yet. Some users hope the setting was just moved elsewhere, but no one’s found it yet. One Redditor reported losing more than just vibrations. Their Weather app also lacks temperature unit options and theme settings, hinting at a possible wider app issue. This is also something that I can confirm too.

The app seems to be barebones with just the most basic settings. I’ve taken a couple of screenshots highlighting the removal of all those settings.

For now, Pixel owners are stuck guessing. Did Google scrap the feature due to bugs? Is it getting a redesign? Or did it accidentally vanish in an update? Without an official word, users can only speculate what’s going on.

We’ll update the article if and when there’s any further information about the issue. In the meantime, feel free to let us know if you too aren’t seeing the ‘Immersive vibrations’ setting on your phone and if the vibrations still work.
