Google appears to be rolling out Dual SIM RCS support to more users globally. The release could potentially be tied with the latest Google Messages beta (version 20250112_00_RC00) and stable (version 20241120_00_RC07) updates. But it’s also possible that the feature has been flipped on via a server-side update. According to multiple recent reports online, users are finally noticing that they can now start using RCS on both SIMs.
Early last year, there were signs that Google might be introducing Dual SIM RCS in the Messages app. A few months later, it started rolling out to a handful of users on the beta channel, but for some odd reason, it was pulled. Shortly after that, it started appearing in beta yet again, but widespread availability has been elusive.
A thread on Google’s Issue Tracker noting the disappearance of Dual SIM RCS from Messages gained over 400 votes from other affected users. Some claim to have gained support, but then lost it shortly after, yet again. While the thread has still not been marked as “fixed” by Google engineers, the signs of a wider release are promising.
In two separate Reddit threads, multiple users have confirmed that they can now use Dual SIM RCS in countries like Ukraine, Canada, Germany and the US. They’ve also clarified that they didn’t have to do anything out of the ordinary to get it to work.
To check if you’ve got this new feature, all you need to do is head to Settings in the Google Messages app. If RCS is active on both your SIMs, you’ll see both listed as “Connected,” and you can toggle each one on or off individually. It’s a nice touch, letting you control which number you want RCS messages to come through on. Just make sure you’re running the latest Google Messages version available.
