Google’s Find My Device app just got a major upgrade that’s sure to make your Pixel even more secure. The latest update introduces biometric login, allowing you to protect your device tracking system with your fingerprint or face unlock.

According to Android Authority, this long-awaited feature was hinted at in previous versions of the app, and it’s finally here. If you’re running version 3.1.173-1 or later, you can enable biometric login by tapping your account profile icon and selecting “Require sign-in.”

Once you’ve enabled biometric login, you’ll be prompted to scan your fingerprint or face to access the Find My Device app. This adds an extra layer of security, preventing unauthorized users from tracking or locating your Pixel.

If your device doesn’t support biometric login, you’ll still be able to access the app using your Google account password. However, if you have biometric capabilities, it’s definitely recommended to enable this feature for added protection.

This update is a welcome addition to the Find My Device app, making it even more useful for keeping track of your Pixel. So, if you haven’t already, go ahead and update your app to enjoy the benefits of biometric login.
