Google has showcased a new version of the Concentric watch face in a promotional video for the Pixel Watch 3, although this version is not currently available. The unreleased watch face was spotted by someone on Reddit.

The video, titled “The Design of Pixel Watch 3”, offers a glimpse of the unreleased face, sparking speculation about whether it’s an upcoming update or just a design mockup. The layout closely resembles the existing Dial I face but adds a twist: four complications are nestled between the minutes and seconds rings.

Two of the complications include battery percentage and heart rate, which already exist on the Pixel Watch. However, the third complication features VO2 Max (or cardio fitness score), which isn’t currently available as a watch face metric. The fourth complication displays two wave-like symbols alongside a numerical value, hinting that it might represent breathing rate—currently measured only overnight as part of Health Metrics.

Most of the watch faces featured in the video, such as Active, Field, and Track, are already available on the Pixel Watch 3. This unexpected Concentric tweak stands out, leaving users curious whether Google plans to release it as an update or if it’s simply a placeholder designed for marketing purposes.

Historically, Google has limited new watch faces to annual device launches, meaning updates outside this cycle are uncommon. However, the appearance of this face raises hopes for a mid-cycle release or an enhancement to the popular Concentric design.

As of now, both the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 2 are still awaiting the new 2024 faces. Whether this redesigned Concentric face makes the cut remains to be seen, but the sneak peek has certainly sparked excitement among Pixel Watch enthusiasts.
