Alright, Pixel 9 gang, listen up! If you’ve just gotten your hands on Google’s new Pixel 9 and suddenly find that your Google Home app isn’t sending Nest notifications, you’re not alone. Apparently, there’s a bug messing with notifications, and it’s driving some users up the wall. But don’t panic, there’s a quick (and mostly effective) fix for it.

Here’s the deal. Google’s Home app is pretty handy when it’s playing nice with your Nest devices, especially if you’re counting on it to alert you to motion or activity from your cameras. But for some early adopters of the Pixel 9 series, these notifications have gone MIA. What’s even more frustrating? The settings all look perfect –everything is turned on, but those important alerts? Crickets.

Users over on Reddit and Google’s Nest forums are already rallying around this issue, so it’s safe to say it’s not just you or your Wi-Fi playing tricks. Even the folks at 9to5Google have noticed the same issue on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (weirdly, no issues on the Pro XL though).

But hey, let’s get to the good part — the fix. Some users have found that simply uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app gives it the kick it needs to start sending notifications again. Simple, right? A quick digital reboot seems to work like magic for some, though not everyone. There are a few unlucky folks who say this trick didn’t work for them, so your mileage may vary.

Sadly, Google hasn’t yet acknowledged this bug, but until they do (and hopefully roll out a more permanent fix), reinstalling the app might just be your best bet.
