According to an exclusive report from Android Headlines, Google’s highly anticipated Pixel 9 Pro Fold will not be available for immediate purchase following its expected announcement at the upcoming Made by Google event on August 13. Instead, interested buyers will have to wait until early September to get their hands on the device.

The Made by Google event will showcase Google’s latest lineup of Pixel products. While pre-orders for all new devices are expected to open on August 13, shortly after the keynote presentation concludes around 11 AM PT, shipping dates will vary across the product range.

The standard Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL are slated for an August 22 release. However, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Buds Pro 2 will face a longer wait, with shipments not commencing until September.

Specifically, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is reported to begin shipping on September 4, nearly a month after its unveiling. The device is expected to carry a price tag of $1,799 – matching its predecessor’s cost, despite price increases from competitors.

The report also notes that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will have an even longer pre-order timeline, with availability set for September 26, more than a month post-announcement.

While the report doesn’t provide information on the Pixel Watch 3’s release date, the varying shipping dates for other Pixel products suggest a potentially staggered rollout for Google’s entire new product line.

This delay in shipments may be attributed to Google’s earlier-than-usual launch event and the introduction of a larger product lineup, particularly with twice as many phones as in previous years. That said, this could be another big disappointment added to the list for potential buyers.
