Google is back at it, and this time, they’re taking on the foldable market with a fresh twist. The upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, expected to debut on August 13 alongside the rest of the Pixel 9 series, promises to bring a blend of innovation and refinement that’s bound to catch the eye of tech enthusiasts.

Leaks from Android Authority have given us a glimpse into what we can expect from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google has opted for an 8-inch inner display, a noticeable upgrade from the original Pixel Fold’s 7.6-inch screen. This new display, with a resolution of 2152 x 2076, boasts a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, promising a vibrant and responsive user experience. The inner screen’s expanded size and enhanced brightness are sure to make your Netflix binges and late-night scrolling sessions even more enjoyable.

But that’s not all. The outer display, now a taller 6.24-inch panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2424, also shines brighter at 1,800 nits. This adjustment moves away from the “stubby” feel of its predecessor, making the new model feel more like a traditional smartphone when folded. The refined design doesn’t stop at the screens; the device is also expected to be slimmer than its competitors, coming in at just 10.54mm thick when folded.

Google’s hardware teaser video has already revealed a sleeker design with thinner bezels, ditching the chunky top and bottom bezels of the original Pixel Fold. This new look aligns closely with Oppo’s Find N3 and the OnePlus Open, suggesting a trend towards more polished and seamless designs in the foldable market.

Speaking of the Pixel 9 series, Evan Blass (a.k.a. @evleaks) recently dropped an official render showcasing the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The image confirms that the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro share the same size, while the 9 Pro XL is the big sibling in the lineup, matching the Pixel 8 Pro in size. The new series sticks to familiar territory with thinner bezels, particularly on the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which features uniform, sleek bezels similar to the Pixel 8 Pro. The standard Pixel 9, though slightly thicker at the bottom, maintains a consistent aesthetic that fans have come to appreciate.
