Pre-ordering the Pixel 9 Pro might just land you a piece of Google Pixel design history…but only if you’re quick and live in a select few countries. That’s right, Google is offering a “limited-edition collectible” to the first wave of pre-orders for devices in the Pixel 9 Pro series in Australia, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.

What exactly is this collector’s item? Well, that’s part of the fun. Google is keeping it under wraps, describing it only as a “piece of Google Pixel design history.” According to 9to5Google, the image they’ve shown isn’t much help either – it just displays a fancy box that looks way too nice to be your average phone packaging.

Whispers from the Taiwan Google Store suggest the prize might be a set of “original Google Pixel design posters.” That would be an awesome collector’s item for any Pixel die-hard, though keep in mind this has been translated using Google Translate. But again, this is just speculation. The mystery adds to the intrigue, right?

Here’s the not-so-fun part: This pre-order bonus seems to be exclusive to the Asia-Pacific region for now, and only on the “Pro” models. That may leave Pixel 9 buyers and other Pixel fans elsewhere feeling a bit left out. C’mon Google, spread the love. We all deserve a chance to snag a piece of Pixel history.

So, if you live in Australia, Japan, Taiwan or Singapore, dust off your pre-order finger and get ready to act fast when Google unveils the Pixel 9 Pro series next month. This limited-edition collectible could be yours. For everyone else, keep refreshing those Google Store pages and hope this pre-order perk expands globally. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any updates.

If you haven’t already, go check out the entire Google Pixel 9 series in photos following the visit to Taiwan’s NCC.
