A recent leak has revealed potential pricing for Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 smartphone series in France, suggesting a price increase for certain models. The leak, reported by French deal-sharing website Dealabs, provides details on pricing and configurations for the entire Pixel 9 lineup, including the standard Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
According to the leak, the base Pixel 9 model with 128GB storage is expected to start at €899 (approximately $977), a €100 increase from its predecessor. The 256GB variant is priced at €999 ($1,086). Both versions will reportedly be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Cosmo, and Mojito color options.
The Pixel 9 Pro lineup sees a more modest price adjustment. The 128GB model is listed at €1,099 ($1,195), with 256GB and 512GB variants priced at €1,199 ($1,303) and €1,329 ($1,445), respectively. Color options include Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Pink, with some limitations on higher storage tiers.
For those seeking a larger device, the Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at €1,199 ($1,303) for 128GB, ranging up to €1,689 ($1,837) for a 1TB model in Obsidian. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Google’s second-generation foldable, is priced from €1,899 ($2,065) for 256GB to €2,029 ($2,207) for 512GB in Obsidian and Porcelain.
While these prices are specific to the French market, they often indicate broader European pricing trends. It’s worth noting that international prices don’t always directly translate to other markets, including the United States.
The Pixel 9 series is expected to bring several improvements over its predecessors. Recent rumors suggest that the devices may feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which will hopefully help fix the longstanding optical fingerprint sensor issues that popped up with the Pixel 6 series and onwards.
Google is set to unveil the Pixel 9 lineup, alongside the Pixel Watch 3, at a hardware event scheduled for August 13. This earlier-than-usual launch date breaks from Google’s traditional October reveal timeline for its flagship devices.
