Google has heard your pleas and is gearing up to unlock a cool feature in Android 15 that may make sharing your awesome AI-generated wallpapers on the Pixel 8 and newer devices a reality.

Android 15 Beta 3 brings several new features and bug fixes, and an eagle-eyed Pixel enthusiast has spotted a promising addition to the AI wallpaper interface that may have flown under the radar. Now, alongside the familiar pencil icon, a shiny new share button has emerged. While the pencil already allowed for quick edits to your generated masterpieces, this new share button opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

This change means Pixel 8 users will be able to effortlessly send unique AI wallpaper creations to friends, family, or even that random person on the internet who complimented your phone’s background. It’s a dream come true for those who love to personalize their devices and share their creative flair.

While the feature is still in its early stages and currently doesn’t allow for downloading or uploading wallpapers, it’s a clear sign that Google is actively working to make it a reality. The company is likely ironing out the technical kinks and ensuring a smooth and seamless sharing experience. Interestingly, screenshots shared on Thread show a third bin icon. The bin option, as expected, allows users to delete wallpapers. However, there’s a catch: you cannot delete a wallpaper that is currently in use. This is a practical safeguard to prevent users from accidentally removing their active backgrounds. But for some reason, we don’t have this option on our Pixel 8 unit.

The addition of the share button brings AI wallpapers in line with the existing Emoji Workshop feature, which already allows users to share their custom creations. This move not only caters to user demand but also reinforces Google’s commitment to making Pixel devices more customizable and fun.

So, while you might not be able to share your AI wallpaper just yet, rest assured that Google is most likely on the case. Keep an eye on future Android 15 updates, and soon enough, you’ll be able to spread the AI-powered wallpaper joy with everyone you know.
