Google has begun the rollout of Android 15 Beta 1.1, a new update that addresses several issues found in the previous beta release. This update arrives roughly two weeks after the initial beta milestone. Users can install this patch either via factory image or an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Build AP31.240322.023, which includes the April 2024 security patch, is now rolling out to the following Pixel devices: Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro.

Key fixes include:

  • Fixed various issues with NFC that interfered with wallet apps and other NFC-dependent system operations.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the Developer Options settings screen to crash.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some devices from updating properly to Beta 1.
  • Fixed a text clipping issue when trying to print.

Devices currently participating in the Android 15 Beta for Pixel program will automatically receive a notification for the over-the-air (OTA) update to Beta 1.1. If you’re not enrolled in the beta program, we have a simple guide on how to install Android 15 Beta that you can check out.

Android 15 Beta will remain under testing before eventually hitting the stable channel somewhere in Q3 2024.
