Update 1 (April 18, 2024)

10:50 am (IST): Unlike the previous blurry images, leaker MysteryLupin has treated us to high-resolution renders of the Pixel 8a, showcasing all four colors – Bay, Mint, Obsidian, and Porcelain – from every angle. Interestingly, the “Porcelain” render is still sporting a case, adding a bit of intrigue. These detailed images offer a much clearer look at Google’s upcoming mid-range phone, confirming the previously leaked color options. Click/tap on the images below for a better view.

Original article from April 13 follows:

Leaked images by Android Headlines offer a glimpse of the possible color options for the upcoming Google Pixel 8a. It appears the phone will be available in four familiar shades: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Bay (blue), and Mint (green). These colors have all graced previous Pixel models, with Mint featuring on the Pixel 6a and Bay on the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the Mint color for Pixel 8a, according to these leaked images, seems much more vibrant than the previous shades. Check out the four Pixel 8a colors below:

Design-wise, the Pixel 8a seems to closely resemble the Pixel 8, sporting a matte-textured back. The renders closely match the real-world Pixel 8a images shared earlier this week. Specs rumored for the device include a 6.1-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, the Tensor G3 processor from last year’s Pixel 8, and a 4,500mAh battery. The camera department is expected to retain the 64-megapixel main sensor and 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor from the Pixel 7a.

The Google I/O event in May is pegged as the likely launch window for the Pixel 8a, following the tradition set by most Pixel A-series phones. The price remains under speculation, however, rumors suggest a possible increase to $549. Google has been known to raise A-series prices by $50 annually in recent years.

That said, if the Pixel 8a comes with price tag under $500, the phone could offer incredible value. Looking ahead, rumors suggest Google might launch three Pixel 9 models this fall: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. So, keeping the Pixel 8a under the $500 mark could be a strategic move. As someone who’s eyeing the Pixel 8a, I’m hoping Google manages to find a way to keep the price similar to the Pixel 7a’s launch price.
