In a move that expands its trade-in program, the Google Store in the USA is now accepting qualifying tablets as trade-in options towards the purchase of a new Pixel Tablet. Previously, the program only encompassed smartphones and smartwatches. This welcome addition allows buyers to potentially offset the cost of a new Pixel Tablet by exchanging their existing device.

The trade-in process is straightforward and accessible directly on the Pixel Tablet configuration page during checkout. A dedicated “Trade-in your device” section appears, prompting users to select the manufacturer of their old tablet – currently, Apple and Samsung are the supported brands.

Once the brand is chosen, Google presents a series of simple questions to assess the condition of the device. These questions focus on functionality, inquiring if the tablet powers on, has a functioning screen free of cracks, and operates without any major issues.

The potential trade-in value varies depending on the make and model of the old tablet, with Apple devices reaching a maximum of $450. Samsung tablets, on the other hand, have a current ceiling of $325. The minimum trade-in value for both brands sits at $250. This new program officially launched on April 4, 2024 for Pixel Tablet and here are the trade-in values on Google Store in USA:

Alternatively, if the purchased Pixel Tablet has already been returned, the credit is converted to Google Store credit.
