YouTube Music users on Android and iOS are getting a handy new feature that adds a dedicated “Activity” feed to show updates from artists you subscribe to. This feed keeps you up-to-date with the latest releases and activity from the artists you follow, and is accessible via the familiar bell icon next to the search button in the Home tab of the YouTube Music app. But unlike the standard YouTube app, this icon will now specifically cater to “updates from artists you subscribe to and other activity.”

According to 9to5Google, the feed primarily highlights new music releases, including singles and albums, displayed chronologically. Each listing includes the artist’s image and the artwork of their newest release. YouTube Music also curates a “Suggested for you” section with artists tailored to your listening history. For a full overview of your subscriptions, head to the Library tab > Artists filter > Subscriptions.

To get the best updates in the Activity feed, make sure to subscribe to your favorite artists and channels on YouTube Music. If you’re worried about these subscriptions cluttering your main YouTube feed, rest assured that this feature seems to be exclusive to YouTube Music. While this is an excellent start, some users are hoping to see podcast episode alerts integrated into this Activity feed in future updates.

The Activity feed is rolling out widely through a server-side update, which explains why I the feature didn’t show up for me when I first checked. However, it appeared right after I force-closed and re-opened the app, so be sure to try this trick. Currently, the feature is only available on Android and iOS mobile devices and not for the web version of YouTube Music.
