Eagle-eyed tech sleuth, AssembleDebug, has uncovered hints about the upcoming Pixel 9 in the latest Google app beta. Version 15.14.34.29 appears to include code specifically designed for the Pixel 9’s Google Assistant setup process.

This leak suggests two things. First, that Google is preparing its software for the new phone’s launch, which is expected later this year. Second, it offers a glimpse into what users might experience during the initial setup of their Pixel 9. Here’s the animation that users might see when setting up their Pixel 9 devices (loads from our Imgur account):

While the fresh code spotted in the Google app reveals code related to the setup wizard on the Pixel 9, it doesn’t provide any groundbreaking details about the phone itself. There’s also no mention of the rumored “Pixie” assistant, which was speculated to be a new, offline-focused assistant for Pixel devices.

While Google remains tight-lipped about Pixie, the Pixel 9 launch could bring more information about this potential addition to the Pixel ecosystem.
