Earlier this year Google announced it’s bringing Gemini to Gmail, Docs and more apps for users subscribed to the Google One AI Premium plan. Now we’ve spotted Google readying Gemini AI-powered reply suggestions in Gmail on Android.

In a tip shared exclusively with PiunikaWeb, code sleuth AssembleDebug revealed that they were able to get the ‘reply suggestions from Gemini’ feature activated by enabling some flags. Here are a couple of screenshots for reference:

In some instances, Gemini also seeks feedback by asking if the suggestions were “bad”. This should help improve the suggestions in the long run. To use the suggestions, first you have to tap on the preferred response. The text will then show up in the compose field where you can either tweak it by adding/removing text or just hit send.

At present, premium subscribers can take advantage of Gemini in Gmail when composing an email. So it’s good to see Google doubling down on Gemini and adding its magic to more functions. Granted that the feature is up and working in the backend, we expect it to begin rolling out to users in the coming weeks, if there are no hiccups along the way.
