In Baldur’s Gate 3, players receive a horrific implant that grants them monstrous Mind Flayer powers, offering an edge over their enemies. These powers can change the flow of battle, but they come with a catch: players need their precious ‘action’ charges to use them. However, there is a way to change this!
The test to awaken the Mind Flayer powers in Baldur’s Gate 3
From the moment players choose to save the Githyanki Warrior, Lae’zel, she will advise the player to reach out to her people in their Githyanki Creche. According to her, the Gith people have devised a way to cure Mind Flayer implants.
After reaching the Creche, players will discover a plethora of secrets that will alter the course of the story, particularly regarding the arc of the Githyanki Warrior, Lae’zel. Among everything, players will also find a scary device called the Zaith’isk.
To use the Illithid powers as a bonus action in Baldur’s Gate 3, the player must obtain the Awakened Illithid Powers bonus by sitting on the Zaith’isk Chair and passing all three skill checks for Intelligence, Wisdom, and Constitution.
Once the Awakened Illithid Powers bonus is obtained, the player can cast Illithid abilities as a bonus action instead of an action. It is important to note that the Awakened Illithid Powers bonus can only be obtained by the main character and requires refusing Lae’zel the opportunity to sit on the chair, which will cost approval if she is in the party.
