TikTok video-visualization issues on devices with large screens could end soon, as the app will receive full-screen optimization for tablets and foldables like the Google Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, other Android foldables and tablets, and even iPads.
Google Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet and other big-screen devices soon getting full-screen optimization
One of the least visually pleasing sensations is when you open an app and the UI is not correctly adapted to the screen format of your device. While the app is still functional, the overall feel can ruin the user experience.
This can happen when you run phone-focused apps on large-screen devices. TikTok is one of those apps whose UI has always been designed primarily for phone screens, so the visual experience on tablets and foldables was not the best.
However, that’s now changing, as the long-awaited TikTok full-screen optimization will soon arrive on big-screen devices in an upcoming app update. The company assures that now the viewing experience on this type of device will be more ‘clear and refined.’
The new UI tweaks include a couple of new navigation bars that will fit all sections of the app. Additionally, you can view the videos in any orientation (vertical or horizontal) and the UI will adapt.
Likewise, the new update includes the bases for the implementation of the future ‘Topic Feeds’, a section that will bring together videos according to different areas such as sports, gaming, etc. This will be useful if you want your video scrolling experience to focus on a specific topic, rather than relying solely on the choice of the algorithm.
The official announcement does not include a specific date, but it will probably begin to reach everyone in the coming days.
