The latest Pixel December Feature Drop has been available for all unlocked (and most carrier-locked) eligible devices for a few days now, but it seems that Verizon Google Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series users were still unable to download it. However, now they can also update their devices as builds are live.
Verizon December update factory images & OTA builds available for Google Pixel Fold, Pixel 7 and 8 series
There was some confusion regarding the availability of the December Feature Drop update for Verizon Google Pixel 7 and 8 series, since after being published on the official Google Developers website, it was withdrawn for no apparent reason.
Normally, the sudden withdrawal of builds is due to last-minute critical problems that must be fixed before publishing the update again. However, there is no official explanation for this, so we cannot know exactly what happened.
Anyway, the wait is over as the Verizon Google Pixel 7 and 8 series builds have already been published again by Google, along with the Pixel Fold one. It turns out that these updates have their own build number, different from the other eligible Pixel devices (UQ1A.231205.015.A1).
So, the factory images and OTA builds for the devices in question are now available on the Google Developers platform. Therefore, you should soon receive the OTA availability notification on your device, but you can always update it manually in case you don’t want to wait any longer (download the files from here).
If you are a user of a Google Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series, or Pixel Fold device and have already received the update, feel free to tell us about your experience in the comments box below.
