Facebook users on iPhones are facing a vexing issue following the recent app update to version v437.2. Many iPhone users are reporting that the Facebook app is either crashing unexpectedly, failing to load, or stuck on logo screen. This problem seems to have emerged after the app update, hinting at a bug within the new version.
Facebook app crashing or not loading on iPhone
I’ve come across a plenty of reports where users complain that the Facebook app crashes right after the launch. Or after they’ve been using it for some time. Specifically, when trying to open Facebook on their iPhones, it gets stuck on the Facebook logo and fails to fully load. As a result, iPhone users are unable to access the social media platform. What’s more frustrating is that this problem has persisted for some days now with no fix in sight.
It’s important to note that these issues are specific to iPhone users, and no reports from Android users have surfaced. This implies that the problem is particularly affecting iPhone users who have updated to the latest Facebook app version.
Unfortunately, neither Facebook nor Apple has acknowledged this glitch. That means, it could take up a while to get fixed. It could bother users until Facebook releases the next app update to address it.
What you can do
In the meantime, you can try some basic troubleshooting steps to mitigate the problem.
Restart your iPhone
Simply restarting your iPhone can often resolve basic problems like app-related problems. Hence, you can simply try restarting your iPhone and then see if the problem persists.
Update the Facebook App
The recent app update brought this glitch and Facebook might release another update to fix it. Hence, you should keep a tab on the new update on the App Store.
Reinstall the Facebook App
If the problem persists, try uninstalling the Facebook app and then reinstall it from the app store.
Clear app cache
Secondly, you can try clearing the app cache from your iPhone’s settings. To do that, go to Settings > tap General > locate the Facebook app and click ‘Offload App’.
Check for iOS updates
Although the issue is triggered by the recent Facebook update, you can still check for new iOS update. In case the issue gets resolved.
Use Facebook in browser
This problem only affects the Facebook app, however, you can still open your Facebook account via the website on your preferred web browser. Hence, a potential workaround would be to use Facebook as a web app.
That said, we will make sure to update this space with new information as and when we come across anything noteworthy.
