On a seemingly ordinary day, Cloudflare users across the globe are greeted with unexpected trouble as their services are down.

In the world of modern internet infrastructure, Cloudflare stands as a pivotal player, offering security and performance solutions to websites and online services globally.

However, even the giants of the tech industry can experience hiccups.

Several websites and online services that rely on Cloudflare for security, performance, and reliability are reporting downtime (1,2,3,4,5).

Some users say that their websites are unreachable, while others experienced slow loading times and intermittent connectivity issues.

The second, and perhaps more troubling, aspect of this disruption is the arbitrary blocking of IP addresses.

Users attempting to access Discord, found themselves faced with a disheartening message ‘Sorry, you have been blocked’.

The problem became increasingly apparent when Discord services are severely impacted, leaving multiple users unable to access the popular communication platform.

Discord users, puzzled and frustrated, took to various online forums and social media platforms to report the issue. Some shared their concerns, while others sought assistance in finding a workaround.

The fact that nothing else using cloudflare is down makes me think this is a Ddos attack. #Discord

Despite the widespread impact of this issue, there is no official acknowledgment or response from Discord.

However, on the official status website Cloudflare, they are investigating this issue:

So, we are hopeful that the services will be back up and running soon.

04:52 pm (IST): Cloudflare status page says that they implemented a fix and are evaluating the results. However, it is still down for several users (1,2,3).

09:45 am (IST): The recent outage seems to be resolved as there are no new reports and Clouflare status page also shows that all systems are now operational.
