Original story (published on July 4, 2023) follows:

ChatGPT’s ‘Browse with Bing’ feature integrates Microsoft’s Bing search engine into the conversation, enabling the model to fetch and present information from the web.

By using this feature, users can conveniently obtain up-to-date information, without having to leave the chat environment.

This integration significantly enhances the utility of ChatGPT, transforming it into a versatile tool that bridges the gap between AI and the web.

The ‘Browse with Bing’ feature was only accessible to Plus subscribers, who were delighted to have this added functionality as part of their subscription.

It provided a seamless experience and was a convenient feature that enhanced the overall user experience.

However, recent developments have left users frustrated and dissatisfied. Instead of being able to enjoy the ‘Browse with Bing’ feature, users are encountering an error message stating, ‘Unusual traffic in your account’.

This unexpected roadblock has led to confusion and irritation among those who were eagerly looking forward to utilizing this feature.

We are not happy about this, this should not be in Beta stages ? What were your testers doing in Alpha stages? You need to improve alot and even plugin submissions are mess it takes more time than 1 week for no reason. No fixed rules for all users

That’s crazy! Come on now lol I was just telling a friend about research into medicine and nutrition and how ChatGpt can be used to pull the stuff from the page so he doesn’t have to read through all the extra crap just get to the points he wants and then you do this! My heart is broken lol

To make matters worse, users who paid for this feature are now demanding refunds. They feel that since they paid for a service that is no longer available, they should be compensated accordingly.

Issue acknowledged

OpenAI support has clarified that the ‘Browse with Bing’ feature has been temporarily disabled due to technical issues.

The company has acknowledged that the feature occasionally displayed content that was not appropriate or intended, which led to its suspension.

The OpenAI team is diligently working on resolving these issues and aims to reintroduce the feature once it meets the desired standards of performance and content accuracy.

However they did not provide a specific timeline for when the feature will be reinstated, leaving users in the dark.

That being said, stay tuned to PiunikaWeb to know if and when there are any further developments regarding the issue.
