[Update: Maintenance ended] Dota 2 servers down or not working? You're not alone

In the MOBA segment, Dota 2 is one of the best known names. It faces other great alternatives in the genre such as League of Legends (LoL) and Heroes of the Storm.

That said, it seems that currently several Dota 2 players are unable to enjoy the game since the servers are down or not working.

Dota 2 down, not loading or working

Multiple reports indicate that Dota 2 servers have been completely down for a while. Players are just getting error messages when trying to find matches at the time of writing this story.

There are also players who are getting stuck on a ‘Connected to the Dota 2 Game Coordinator’ loading screen.

According to some players, they have been experiencing issues while trying to play for at least 2 hours. However, there is still no official word on the situation from the Dota 2 dev team.

Hopefully the dev team can resolve the issue as quickly as possible. After all, it is causing frustration for many people who cannot enjoy their favorite game.

Update 1 (April 26, 2023)

04:31 pm (IST): Dota 2 latest server outage has been fixed, so the game is now available to everyone again.

Update 2 (August 11, 2023)

09:16 am (IST): Dota 2 servers are currently down or not working, preventing players from being able to login or complete purchases (1, 2).

01:05 pm (IST): It seems that Dota 2 servers are working properly again.

Update 3 (September 11, 2023)

08:15 am (IST): Multiple Dota 2 players are reporting server issues where the game is getting stuck on a ‘Confirming match’ screen, and they note that it has been going on for 3 days (1, 2, 3, 4).

03:08 pm (IST): Dota 2 already appears to be working correctly since ‘Confirming match’ error related reports stopped.

Update 4 (September 27, 2023)

04:35 pm (IST): Dota 2 is currently down or not working (1, 2, 3) apparently due to server maintenance.

Update 5 (September 28, 2023)

10:30 am (IST): It seems that the recent maintenance has been completed and the game is fully accessible as we haven’t come across any fresh reports of it being down.
