In a recent turn of events, Spectrum users found themselves at the center of a brewing storm when several channels went missing following the recent deal with Disney.

Spectrum users previously had to deal with blackouts of certain channels because of a disagreement between the firm and the Disney network. This affected popular networks such as ESPN and various Disney-owned channels.

However, the two parties have finally negotiated a new agreement after days of uncertainty. It also put an end to a frustrating period for many subscribers, albeit partially.

Spectrum missing channels after new Disney deal

While it’s surely good news, but not all previously lost channels will be making a return. This outcome has left several users even more disgruntled (1,2,3,4,5,6), leading to the initiation of a petition and widespread discontent.

Bullshit. You went silent during the whole @Disney , @espn , @NatGeo channel dispute. @Ask_Spectrum exists primarily to try to silence people telling the truth about your shitty products and service.

@Ask_Spectrum With 8 channels not being restored after the agreement with @Disney , where can customers go to find channels like FXX, Disney Junior, and especially, Nat Geo Wild?

Under the terms of the new agreement, several channels will remain unavailable to Spectrum users. They include FXX, Freeform TV, FX, various Disney Channels, Nat Geo Wild, and several Christian channels.

One of the major points of contention among Spectrum users is the absence of popular channels such as Baby TV, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Freeform, FXM, FXX, Nat Geo Wild, and Nat Geo Mundo.

There are several concessions included in the new agreement possibly aimed at pacifying subscribers. Customers will now be able to order Disney+, Hulu, or The Disney Bundle straight through Charter.

Moreover, those who opt for Spectrum TV Select Plus will have the basic version of Disney+ included in their package.

As part of the new deal, customers will be able to purchase Disney+, Hulu or The Disney Bundle directly through Charter. Anyone who purchases Spectrum TV Select Plus will get the basic version of Disney+ included in their package. Spectrum TV Select Plus customers will also get ESPN+ and ESPN’s standalone streaming service, which hasn’t launched yet.

Despite that, Spectrum subscribers remain dissatisfied. They argue that they initially contracted under different conditions and are now paying for a service that does not meet their expectations.

Demand for refund

Amid the frustration, there is a glimmer of hope for subscribers. The Spectrum team has decided to compensate users for the days they were without access to their favorite channels.

This compensation will be provided in the form of an automatic credit on the next billing cycle.

This announcement surely comes as a welcome relief to some subscribers, while others feel that this still does not compensate for the channels that will remain missing.
