[Updated] Some Starfield players unable to dock ships in 'high price to pay', 'into the unknown' & 'eye of the storm' missions

Starfield players are encountering a bug that impedes their progress in the ‘Eye of the Storm’, ‘Into the Unknown’ and ‘High Price to Pay’ missions, making them unable to dock their ship.

Numerous reports have emerged on various social media platforms highlighting the issue with these missions.

Some players are struggling to dock their ships at the start of the ‘High Price to Pay’ mission.

Is it just me or is the docking mechanic is this game seriously flawed? I have had on more than one occasion issues trying to land on a space station. Just now trying to meet Vladimir on the Eye. I must have exploded my ship 10 times just trying to find the sweet spot where the option to dock or hail comes up. (Source)

I’ve docked multiple times previously but I’m here at the Eye space stations and there is no option to dock after bringing up the scanner. (Source)

‘High Price to Pay’ serves as a crucial focal point in the storyline. In this mission, players must make significant decisions that will impact the remainder of their playthrough.

They are required to interact with the Constellation crew and Vladimir at the space station known as The Eye. However, the issue arises every time they attempt to talk to Vladimir and dock their ships at The Eye (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

The reports have also shared that the issue is also present in another mission called, ‘into the unknown’. Here, players also have to interact with Vladimir and dock in The Eye.

The inability to dock halts the mission and disrupts their progress in the main story.

Although there is no official fix yet, players have suggested a potential workaround. Apparently, pressing ‘A’ at the right moment while approaching the ship may be the only way to resolve the issue.

“As your approaching the eye, push A which highlights it and allows you to Hail then dock. Only way it worked for me, I tried so many times.” (Source)

The same docking issue is also affecting the ‘Eye of the Storm’ mission, a faction quest in Starfield.

In this mission, players need to dock their ships at a station called ‘Legacy.’ However, players report (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that they are unable to do so, preventing them from even starting the mission.

As of now, there is no official fix for these issues.

However, we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if and when there are any further developments.

If you’re playing on pc you first have to press E to lock on the ship then an icon appears that says dock then hold R to dock
