NBA 2K24 high VC prices upsetting the players
Prices of VC, or Virtual Currency, aka microtransaction, have reached absurdly high levels, surpassing even the base game’s original cost.

NBA 2K24, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K, is the latest entry in the annual franchise, released on September 8, 2023. However, the game has received harsh criticism from players and low review scores.
Among the various complaints, players are most aggrieved by the aggressive microtransactions (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) within the game.
Despite being a full-priced AAA title, NBA 2K24 features in-game purchases with exorbitant pricing, with some items priced as high as $149.
Players argue that to build a competitive team, they need a minimum of 450,000 VC, which translates to approximately $100.
Without spending this much money, it would take around 90+ hours to earn the equivalent VC amount.
If it take 450,000 VC to hit 99ovr and that costs $100, I’d rather pay than grind the 90+ hours it takes to get that same amount of VC (90 hours at 5k vc per hour is ~450,000). (Source)

Early NBA 2K24 players are also reporting severe issues with the post-scoring system, stating that they have had to deal with broken post scorers with every NBA 2K launch.
