Cash App users are taking to social media to vent their frustration about pending transactions that refuse to process as the service is down or not working.

Cash App, developed by Square Inc., has rapidly risen to prominence as one of the most popular peer-to-peer payment platforms.

With its user-friendly interface and features that allow users to effortlessly send, receive, and request money, it has gained a massive following.

However, even the most advanced technology is not immune to glitches and downtime (1,2,3).

One common issue that has come to light is the phenomenon of purchases that neither get declined nor successfully processed.

This is happening in online payments and ATM withdrawals alike. Users are reporting that their payments are stuck in limbo, neither canceled nor completed.

This situation has left several users in a state of financial limbo. They are waiting for payments to go through or struggling to make essential transactions.

My purchases aren’t being declined, but they aren’t going through. I made a purchase about 20 minutes ago with my card online, and then I tried to make another purchase (card linked through PayPal, and the card itself) and i was told to check my account or try a different method each time.

02:22 am (IST): Reports from Cash App users (1, 2, 3) and the server status page indicate that the service is currently down or unavailable.

03:10 am (IST): The ongoing Square platform nation-wide outage seems to be the root of the issues in Cash App. More on that here.

10:19 am (IST): In the midst of the big outage, reports began to emerge about a Cash App ‘free money’ glitch that some were allegedly taking advantage of.

According to reports, Doordash was one of the services affected by the issue after some users reportedly got free food thanks to the glitch.

03:57 pm (IST): It seems that the recent outage with Cash App is finally going to be resolved. It comes after the most recent update from Square and according to them a fix has already been applied.

But it’s plausible that some users may continue to face issues until the services are fully restored.

05:38 pm (IST): In their latest status update, Cash App team revealed that users should now be able to make purchases with their Cash Cards.

Meanwhile, they continue working on restoring the options to send and cash out money.

08:11 am (IST): Several Cash App users are now experiencing issues when trying to log into their accounts or move their funds (1, 2, 3, 4).

01:56 pm (IST): Cash App service already appears to be working correctly as reports related to the issue stopped appearing a few hours ago.

07:51 am (IST): Cash App official status page indicates ongoing connection issues that are causing delays in sending and receiving funds.

02:36 pm (IST): According to the Cash App official status page, the connection issues have already been resolved.

10:58 am (IST): Cash App users report that the Bitcoin transfer feature is currently down or not working, which is causing hours-long delays in transactions made (1, 2, 3, 4).

There’s no official word on the matter, and even the official status page indicates that Bitcoin transfer is working well, which is frustrating affected users.

06:45 pm (IST): Cash App Bitcoin transfer feature already seems to be working correctly after a long wait as the operations are being completed.

06:20 pm (IST): Multiple users report that the Cash App platform is currently down or not working for them.

08:55 am (IST): Cash App platform operation returned to normal a few hours ago.
