Notably, most of the reports are from Minecraft players. It seems that Discord is mistakenly identifying any program or game utilizing the ‘javaw.exe’ or ‘java.exe’ executable files.

What’s more irritating for users is that they cannot correct the mislabeled entry as it appears as verified.

They contend that the developers should tweak the feature to correctly identify a program or game by checking the process title after the process name.

I loaded up MC and it showed this on my Discord profile?? Like ah yes, I totally love playing Puzzle Pirates: Dark Seas. That was definitely the game I was intending to play. 😂

In addition to this, some believe that the company should add an option to correct a wrongly detected title as well. A subset of users is so frustrated that they are asking Discord to remove the verified games feature completely.

Interestingly, an individual claims to have gotten rid of the problem by suspending the automatic discovery of games.

It’s also worth mentioning that the issue has been persistent for a day or two and affects users across multiple platforms. As a result, those affected have taken to web forums to express their concerns.

Apparently, Discord accidentally marked jdk 18’s javaw.exe as Puzzle Pirates: Dark Seas.

One of those impacted says that their game appears correctly in the registered games list. However, the stream button on the corner mislabels it.

Another claims to have gotten worried that their account may have been hacked by someone during their voice chat.

People are now requesting the developers to fix this annoying glitch as soon as possible so that they can demonstrate their activities like before.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the Discord support team has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently investigating it. Although no ETA for the bug fix has been mentioned.

We are hopeful that the company will resolve this problem soon.

Rest assured, we’ll keep tabs on this topic and update you whenever we come across any noteworthy information.
