i came on xbox tonight and found out MWII 2022 was updating so i went on and it said it was 105GB…. why has my game pretty much uninstalled?! i cancelled the update and then now i’m having to reinstall the entire new game?! (Source)

These updates are getting ridiculous. I literally don’t even have the space for an update and I have four games total installed. I just deleted the game because I refuse to dedicate an entire Xbox to just one game. What could they possibly be adding that literally doubles the storage requirements of the game? I’m going back to WW2 I guess. (Source)

Recently, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone released their latest season 5 update. While patches are a common occurrence in COD games, this one has drawn extra attention from the community.

The new patch promises bug fixes, weapon tuning, events, and more. Yet, the most striking aspect is its astonishingly large file size.

Reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) indicate that the downloadable content ranges from 100GB to 130GB, nearly as substantial as the base game itself.

Aside from its huge file size, the Call of Duty MW 2 Season 5 update also removes the multiplayer pack from the game

In addition to the file size issue, players have reported yet another problem related to the new update.

According to reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), the update removes the Multiplayer pack from Modern Warfare 2 and even the Campaign pack.

The latest update deleted the multiplayer-pack and the campaign-pack too. WTF?! (Source)

Players on PC and PlayStation need Data Pack 1 and Multiplayer Pack 2 to run Modern Warfare’s Multiplayer. But due to this bug, they are compelled to go through the reinstallation process.

As of now, there have been no official statements from the developers addressing this issue.

We will closely monitor the situation and provide updates if and when further developments arise.
