COD: Modern Warfare 2 has taken over the gaming world by storm especially due to its impressive new campaign and great visuals. COD fans are excited to see the franchise finally make a comeback.

However, the game is off to a rough start as many are now experiencing server-related issues just after a few hours of release.

COD: Modern Warfare 2 servers down

Many COD Modern Warfare 2 players are currently unable to access the game as the servers are down or not working for them.

Affected players have taken to social media platforms like Twitter to express their frustration with the newly released game.

Many who were excited to try it out for the first time are disappointed to find that the game’s servers are currently experiencing an outage.

It is possible that the servers are unable to cope with the sudden influx in traffic after the game’s global launch.

Unfortunately, the developers have not yet acknowledged the issue with the game’s servers being down for many.

We hope they find out the root cause behind the current outage and fix it as soon as possible. We’ll keep an eye on this matter and update this story to reflect noteworthy information.

Update 1 (April 20, 2023)

10:42 am (IST): Several COD players (1,2,3) are experinecing server related issue as they are geeting a ‘Service Failed’ error message.

01:24 pm (IST): Servers are back up and running.

Update 2 (April 27, 2023)

12:05 pm (IST): Proliferating reports on Downdetector suggest that Call of Duty servers are currently down or not working for a section of players and they are unable to access the game.

However, a player said that they were able to get back after getting kicked out by just retrying.

05:49 pm (IST): The recent outage with Call of Duty has now been resolved.

Update 3 (May 03, 2023)

03:05 pm (IST): Some players (1,2,3) are having difficulty getting into the game right now. This is due to the current maintenance break, which will last 30 minutes.

Heads up! We have some scheduled maintenance for 30 min tomorrow, May 3rd, between the window of 2 AM to 4 AM PT, that will prevent players from logging into Call of Duty titles.

Update 4 (July 14, 2023)

08:32 am (IST): Modern Warfare 2 players are reporting server issues that prevent them from enjoying the game after the latest update (1, 2, 3, 4).

04:00 pm (IST): It seems that the Modern Warfare 2 dev team has already fixed the server issues as related reports have stopped.

Update 5 (August 29, 2023)

01:04 pm (IST): COD is currently down for a number of players (‘Detrick Guernsey’ error code) due to server maintenance (1,2).

06:12 pm (IST): The recent outage with Call of Duty has now been resolved.
