Original story (published on May 1, 2023) follows:

Roblox is undoubtedly one of the most successful games ever made. Not many games have been able to capture such a huge audience from a variety of age groups, regions, and platforms like Roblox has done.

The game is available on PC, mobile, Fire OS, Xbox, and macOS.

However, having a large player base also comes with its own unique challenges. It frequently experiences various bugs and issues that may end up hurting the gaming experience of millions.

Roblox crashing on PC

According to recent reports (1,2,3,4,5), the game keeps crashing after a few minutes of gameplay on PC. Some claim that the crashing issues started popping up after a recent update.

The repeated crashes have made it impossible for players to enjoy the game. In some cases, the crashes are so severe that they freeze the entire system leaving gamers with no option but to restart it.

For others, the game never gets past the startup screen. Common troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the game or restarting the device do not help prevent the issue.

Making matters worse, the same patch also brought an even more annoying bug for mobile gamers.

Pink screen of death

Roblox players on mobile (primarily iOS/iPadOS) are facing an issue where the game displays weird pink artifacts all over their screens. This forces them to restart the game and can also lead to a loss of progress.

The pink artifacts (1,2,3,4) take over the entire screen preventing players from seeing anything properly. Naturally, this makes the game unplayable.

While there’s no confirmation, there is a chance that the crashing and pink screen of death issues are a result of the Byfron anti-cheat system that was recently added to Roblox.

Fortunately, the devs are already aware of the pink screen bug on mobile devices and are currently working on fixing it. But they did not share an ETA as the issue is more complex than expected.

Hi All, our team is continuing to work on resolving this issue as soon as possible. However, the fix is more complicated than expected.

We hope Roblox developers are able to resolve the crashing and pink screen of death issues at the earliest. We’ll keep an eye on this matter and update this story to reflect noteworthy developments.
