[Update: Fix released] Everspace 2 randomly freezing on Xbox for many, issue acknowledged

Everspace 2 players have been reporting an issue where the game randomly keeps freezing on their Xbox consoles.

Recently, Rockfish Games released the game for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. However, some are unhappy as they are experiencing problems.

According to the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Xbox owners are experiencing random freezes for around 2 to 3 seconds while playing the game.

As per the allegations, the entire game freezes even during important moments, such as landing cutscenes.

In addition to this, the frequent disruptions affect both navigation and combat within the game negatively as well. Gamers claim that they can generally tolerate minor hiccups but are unable to overlook the choppy performance.

Additionally, they contend that the situation worsens as one makes more progress and makes it difficult to even access menus or switch weapons.

Players are also skeptical that the freezes might be associated with objective-related progressions, such as interactions with characters like Ben after significant battles or disabling jump suppressors.

Some also doubted that this might be happening because too many games were installed on their console. And as a result, they removed the unnecessary games and restarted the console, but the gameplay remained choppy.

@everspace_game well I finally managed to download the game and am really enjoying it on my Xbox Series X. Other than the .5 second freezes every 20-30 seconds 😔.

Notably, a few argue that most of the games released on Game Pass have a plethora of issues from day one. They have observed instances where rebooting their device made them lose all their saved progress.

They also assert that this game has not been properly optimized but is at least playable and tolerable.

I play on Xbox Series X and the Game have freezes every 20-30 Seconds for 2-3 Seconds. Is this problem known?

Those impacted are now requesting the developers to fix this bug as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the Everspace 2 support team is aware of the issue and is currently working on finding out the root cause of this problem.

04:47 pm (IST): The stuttering/freezing issue on Xbox Series has been officially fixed. Version 1.0.35353 (26 GB is size) is now live on the Xbox Store.
