My xperia 1 IV says cannot load android system, your data may be corrupt and I did press try again multiple times without any use. (Source)

It happened to multiple people aswell .. some of us had to factory reset as ” try again ” option wasn’t working .. I’ve tried to do same update again few hours after and it went well. (Source)

According to these reports, the update leaves the device trapped in the recovery menu. It doesn’t move past the recovery even after selecting ‘Try again’.

How to fix Sony Xperia 1 IV stuck in recovery mode after update

Since Sony hasn’t responded, users have had to use their own methods to deal with the problem. One of them suggested the following:

I had to accept a factory restore, after that I started android, the issue now is that I don’t update to version 64.1.A.0.948 (Source)

Another user said they fixed the issue without a factory restore:

I turned it off and on a few times with the same error. Eventually one more did the trick and it was able to boot. (Source)

On the other hand, some reports also suggest that the troublesome update might have been pulled and is no longer accessible on devices.

I wonder if they pulled it. Because I went to install it, downloaded it. But it didn’t finish installing and checking again doesn’t show any update. And the update history shows July’s update as being the last one it did. (Source)

The handful of reports that we came across on Reddit hint that Sony may have managed to pull the update just in time.

However, we’ll still keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
