Numerous Pokemon Go players have lately been complaining that the ‘Shiny World Championship 2023 Pikachu’ is showing normal colors.

Niantic recently introduced the Pokemon Go Shiny World Championship 2023 event, featuring a special shiny Pikachu and Passimian. In addition to this, the recent event has also boosted the spawn rates for Scraggy and Scrafty.

This event is a great opportunity for one to catch a new Pokemon, get their hands on some rare items, and connect with trainers across the globe.

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), it appears that multiple trainers are unhappy as the Shiny Pikachu are not appearing like they should.

The Shiny Pikachu is much rarer than the regular one and has a yellow body with brown accents instead of the standard yellow body with black accents.

But as per the claims, the Pokemon that players encounter have the same color as the normal ones and only look shiny when one is not looking at them.

Although they contend that the Pokemon gets identified as the shiny variant by the game itself. Some gamers have also noted instances where Pikachu will not appear shiny but will be surrounded by sparkles.

While others have observed that the Pokemon that they have captured have a darker yellow skin.

A few even speculate that the rare Pokemon’s appearance might be almost indistinguishable from their regular counterparts in every aspect.

This shiny Pikachu has the same colour as the normal one.

Interestingly, some players claim to be experiencing this issue only with the female shiny Pikachu. According to them, the male variant appears like it should both in the Pokedex and on the game screen.

One of those impacted says that even though the sprite in the selection menu displays an orange hue, the Pikachu in the game is noticeably lighter.

Fortunately, the Niantic support team has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently looking into it.
