Fans of the OG MMORPG RuneScape have been reporting an absurd bug that has nerfed the Necromancy barricade duration.

RuneScape had recently launched a new combat skill: Necromancy. But days after its release, one of its vital aspects has been severely bugged.

I was using a merciless kiteshield at zuk with turtling 4 on it. No malletops in farm. Barricade is only lasting like 8 seconds instead of 13.8 seconds. Did something change in the patch notes or is it a bug? (Source)

So with the launch of Necromancy, Barricade got bugged to hell, with the Maletops and Turtling 4 buffs not working at all, usually I would get 17.4 seconds of Barricade with those boosts but now it’s just the 10.2 seconds (max duration with max shield level) even with the boosts active. (Source)

The Necromancy skill heavily emphasizes offense and offers very few defensive options. Among these options, Barricade holds the utmost importance.

At first, the defensive barricade used to have a duration of 15+ seconds, with additional supporting skills like Turteling 4.

But according to the reports (1, 2, 3), due to the bug, the duration has been reduced to 7-8 seconds. Severely affecting the defense options of the necromancy combat style.

Devs have been working on fixing the RuneScape Necromancy barricade timer bug

As the complaints about the issue piled up, many users started to get restless. One of them even asked why developers aren’t fixing these problems.

Responding to this query, the Community Manager for RuneScape, JagexDoom, said:

Barricade one has been flagged up, it’s on the team’s radar (Source)

Apart from that, the developers haven’t issued any other official statements regarding the issue. Currently, we cannot determine when they will resolve this issue.

In the meantime, we will monitor the situation and provide an update if there are any additional developments on the matter.
