Several Diablo 4 players have recently reported that ‘A boon in the tide’ objective is bugged or glitched.
‘A Boon in the Tide’ is a Season Journey Chapter 5 objective that requires players to open one of the Tortured Gift chests which are scattered throughout the world.
Inside these chests, one can discover an assortment of rewards, spanning from items and gold to valuable experience points.

However, several gamers complain (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that even after opening various chests, they cannot complete the objective. And as a result, they are unable to advance in the game as well.
Gamers allege that their progress is not updating even after completing countless Hell Tides and opening every type of box.
A few believe that this has been done to potentially encourage engagement in PVP or ensure that players complete the season campaign. By doing so, the developers can prevent excessive farming of Varshan as well.
One of those affected claims that despite completing three Hell Tides and opening various chests, they are unable to complete the objective. Notably, they have opened Tortured Gifts like chestpiece, gloves, helmet, and ring.
Another says that even after opening multiple chest boxes with their friends during different Hell Tide events, they are unable to finish the task.
It’s noteworthy that the issue has been persistent for more than a week and affects gamers across multiple platforms.
I can’t complete my season journey to get the title because this one journey is bugged. I have done countless helltides this season and opened many of every single type of box on the map and it will not update. Please fix this.

And understandably, gamers are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch as soon as possible.

Luckily, the Blizzard support team is aware of the issue and is actively working on fixing it. They also say that the patch should be out by August 15.
