Original story (published on June 9, 2022) follows:

Electronic Arts released Battlefield 2042 last year (2021) as the latest installment in the successful tactical shooter franchise.

Games in the Battlefield series often offer solid experiences in both offline and online modes. The multiplayer mode is the one that extends their useful life for many more months (or years).

However, Battlefield 2042 online modes are currently completely inaccessible, due to an ‘Unable to load persistence data’ error message.

@Battlefield So, I was in game, zero hour came, I can see the battle pass stuff, but no new map or game mode. Restarted game, now 25 mins of unable to load persistence data. Did they not think that a few extra servers to cope with a rush of interest might have been a good idea?

Checked in around 2315 last night no problems with loading try this morning and Load Persistence Data Error 15:600P:13C. All I see in trying to get help is “my fault” with the support answers. Please explain how.

Apparently, this is not the first time this issue has happened.

8 months we have waited for CONTENT. We shouldn’t have to wait longer due to their incompetence.

They said this was fixed and shouldn’t happen. Again for the 3rd time we have this persistence error plaguing servers.

It’s a joke, this franchise is no more than a laughing stock.

EA team is already aware and looking into the issue
