Bluesky is a new social media platform which is a direct alternative to Twitter. However, it’s currently not available for all and those interested can only try it using the invite code.

Bluesky invite codes coveted after Twitter ‘X’ rebranding

Having said that, Twitter recently surprised the world by announcing a major rebranding. It got rebranded to a new name ‘X’ and a fresh logo.

In response, users of Bluesky Social, one of Twitter’s alternative services, are now eagerly searching for invite codes to join the platform.

I’ve got a couple of bluesky account invites if anyone wants em? Looks ok compared to my brief time with mastodon, but I don’t know many folks, so if we are mutual, reach out and I’ll share. (Source)

Especially with the new announcement from earlier about this app, I am once again asking if anyone has a bluesky invite code they can spare. (Source)

If you haven’t got the invite code, Bluesky is also sending daily invites to waitlist. So, if you are on their waitlist, then you might receive the code soon.

Some users propose rename Bluesky to Twitter

As Twitter plans to transform into ‘X,’ many Twitter users are suggesting an idea. They believe that Bluesky Social should now be renamed to ‘Twitter.’

Users believe that it would be better for Bluesky to be renamed to Twitter and get the iconic bird logo as it sounds more familiar.

According to users, the renaming would not only preserve the platform’s identity but also create a sense of unity within the online community.

Here’s how users have put the sequence:

However, its very unlikely that Bluesky will be renamed to Twitter since it was in collaboration with Twitter from the beginning and it wasn’t born to compete.

In addition to this, Jack Dorsey said that it’s not the name which is important, it’s the utility that the service provides.

it’s definitely not “essential”. but you can make an argument for reconsideration being the best path forward. the twitter brand carries a lot of baggage. but all that matters is the utility it provides, not the name. (Source)
