Google recently released the Android 14 Beta 4 update, which features a number of bug fixes and system performance improvements.

For instance, the recent patch resolved a flaw that caused notifications and Quick Settings to stop working until the device was restarted and a bug that caused the rounded borders on notifications to display incorrectly.

In addition to this, the latest update addresses the glitches where a device would become unresponsive if eSIM was disabled and the lock screen got stuck with a blank, black screen.

However, despite the update, some are experiencing issues.

Android 14 beta not logging or recording calls in history

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Android 14 beta users are facing an issue where their smartphones are not logging or recording calls properly in the history.

It has been alleged that call logs are not updating and that missed calls are not being logged or generating notifications.

Users have also observed that the problem affects various apps, such as Google Phone and Truecaller, and multiple phones.

In addition to this, they have tried cleaning the cache and tweaking the permissions of various apps but were unable to resolve the problem.

One of those affected claims that new calls don’t appear both on the system’s default phone app and third-party dialer apps. They also believe that this is a systemwide issue.

Another adds that some of the calls do not ring or register a missed call notification on their smartwatch as well.

Ever since I updated to Android 14 beta 3, my call logs are not showing the new calls. Only the calls till the update are visible. Pixel 7 pro.

It’s noteworthy that the issue has been persistent ever since the Android 14 beta 3 update and remains unresolved until now.

On mine it still shows calls from 2-3 days ago, not the more recent ones when doing this.

Those impacted are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch as soon as possible.

Temporary fix

Luckily, we have come across a workaround that might help solve your problem temporarily. It’s been suggested that you restart your phone whenever the issue pops up.
