New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on June 28, 2023) follows:
Discord’s evolution from a gaming-focused platform to a communication powerhouse has been nothing short of remarkable.
In its quest to stay at the forefront of innovation, Discord consistently introduces new features aimed at elevating the user experience.
One such feature currently undergoing testing is ‘Remix,’ a powerful tool that offers users greater creative control.
What is Discord ‘Remix’
The Remix feature in Discord is an in-app image editor that empowers users to enhance and personalize their images directly within the platform.

The Remix feature offers several capabilities to modify and personalize images. Users can crop or reframe images, allowing them to focus on specific areas or remove unwanted parts.
This functionality is particularly useful when sharing screenshots or photos that require adjustment before sending them to friends or communities.
Moreover, the Paint/Markup feature enables users to draw on images using various tools and colors.
Whether you want to highlight a particular element, add annotations, or create unique designs, the Remix feature provides a convenient in-app solution for image editing.

Honestly I could use this. It’s nice if you need to explain something in a picture and you need to circle it, or if you need to caption a meme or something. I’d like this

Adding text to images is another notable aspect of the Remix feature. Discord users can now place text directly on images, allowing for more expressive and personalized communication.
Whether it’s adding captions, sharing quotes, or simply enhancing the visual appeal of an image with text overlays, this feature adds a new dimension to image sharing within Discord.
Additionally, the Remix feature allows users to place non-animated emojis and stickers on images.

It’s important to note that the Remix feature is specifically designed for images and does not replace the existing edit message button.
This feature does not extend to videos at this time, focusing solely on enhancing the image sharing experience on Discord.
Users can remix images both before and after sending them, but it’s worth mentioning that remixing an image after sending it will result in a new message being sent, rather than updating the original message.
This feature does NOT replace the edit message button, as I saw some people wondering. This feature is not for videos, only images. You can remix before and after sending an image, but the remix won’t update the sent message it just sends a new one.

As of now, the Remix feature is in the beta testing phase and is only available on Discord’s mobile apps.
However, it is important to mention that access to the feature is limited to a select group of users during this testing period.
The final release of the feature is expected to bring it to a wider audience across various platforms, but it remains uncertain whether ‘Remix’ will be exclusive to Discord Nitro subscribers or accessible to all users.
Update 1 (July 6, 2023)
05:32 pm (IST): The general consensus among Discord users who have experienced the Remix feature is overwhelmingly positive, with some appreciating its ability to foster creativity (1,2,3,4).
